We recently went home to GA for my family's reunion. That's a long trip, so we usually stop over in NC and spend a night with our daughter's family.
Anyway, while there, Jeremy showed us his new First Person View (FPV) Camera he bought for the quad-copter he built. The camera comes with these big black goggle looking things that you strap on your head. You guessed it! George and I had to try them.
Wow! I could see everyone and everything Jeremy pointed the camera towards. Truthfully? It was more than a little disconcerting to have no control of what I was seeing.
I couldn't change what I saw by turning my head or body, but I could sit still and get a changing view. I didn't have control of the camera, but the camera was controlling what I could see!
If I was in a cartoon, my lightbulb would've been flashing overhead. I haven't stopped thinking about how the FPV camera was like seeing from God's perspective.
I've also been thinking about how important it is that I put on the FPV goggle thingies. There is absolutely no accidentally wearing those things. They have to be intentionally strapped onto your head and over your eyes.
The same is true of seeing God's perspective. I can intentionally seek His perspective on everyone and everything, or I can look at everyone and everything from my own perspective and draw my own conclusions.
LORD, I want to wear Your FPV goggles all the time. I want to rely on and search for Your thoughts on every matter. Help me to desire and seek Your perspective before I speak or act on anything. Thank You for giving me this fun FPV lesson! Amen.
The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

2nd Samuel 16:7b (NIV)
Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart
And do not rely on your own insight or understanding.
And do not rely on your own insight or understanding.
Proverbs 3:5 (AMP)
So, so true!
